2.D.8. Election Officials
"Election Officials" is a catch-all phrase that may mean anyone from the State Board of Elections to the lowly poll watcher.
The press will often use the phrase loosely.
Most often, "Election Officials" means the Election Authority (i.e., County Clerk or local Board of Election Commissioners ).
Election Officials may also be county or township officials who maintain registration lists, nominating petitions, voter lists, election judge lists, etc.
What the Poll Watcher Is Looking For.
For poll watchers, the most significant use of "Election Officials" is to identify the people who maintain voter registration records.
