3.C. Children

Children under the age of 18 (eighteen) may enter the voting booth area if all 3 (three) criteria are met:

  • 1. The child/children must accompany a voting parent or voting guardian.
  • 2. The parent or guardian must request from the local election official (Election Judge or election worker) that their child/children accompany them.
  • 3. The election official agrees.

The local voting official can take into consideration if the child or children are likely to disrupt or interfere with the voting process or influence the casting of a vote.

The choice to allow or deny children access to the Polling Room is not subject to challenge, but a poll watcher can request a majority vote by the Election Judges representing the voter's precinct or a simple majority of Election Judges in jurisdiction-wide Polling Places.
