3.F. Election Workers

Election workers are employed by the Election Authority to assist Election Judges within the polling place.

Election workers are not officers of the court. Election workers do not have the authority of Election Judges.

Election workers do not compare signatures.

Election workers do not initial ballot applications.

Election workers do not initial ballots.

Election workers cannot assist a voter to fill out a ballot as a substitute for an Election Judge.

Election workers do not instruct voters on how to:

  • Fill out a ballot.
  • Use a voting machine.
  • Use the electronic ballot marking device.
  • Cast a ballot at the ballot box or tabulator.

Election workers cannot assist a voter cast a ballot.

Election workers cannot direct peace officers within the polling place.

Election workers do not wear Election Judge badges or labels, but may wear other badges or labels that identify them as not being Election Judges.

Election workers do not participate in challenges or can vote on a challenge.

Election workers CAN register people to vote, IF they are already assistant registrars.

Election workers are to be treated by the poll watcher with the same courtesy due to Election Judges.

3.F.1. Election Workers at the Central Counting Facility

Election workers also work at the Central Counting Location.

All election workers* at the Central Counting Location work in teams of two, one of each from the two leading political parties.

Thirty (30) days before the election, a list of perspective workers is sent to the chairs of each political party for approval. The chair of the political party has ten (10) days to reply
