5.B. Voter Registration Requirements
The requirements to register to vote in Illinois are that the voter must be:
- 1. A citizen of the United States,
- 2. Eighteen (18) years of age on or by Election Day,
- 3. A resident of Illinois for thirty (30) days prior to the election.
In addition, the State also places requirements on residing within a election district during the thirty (30) days prior to an election.
