5.E. Other Voter Registration Methods

5.E.1. In–Person, Registration Event

Poll watchers are valued members of the voter registration team and are welcome at all voter registration events.

Some rules still apply:

  • A poll watcher can see the names and addresses on the voter registration forms, but cannot handle the registration forms, either paper or online.
  • Electioneering is not allowed during a registration event within 30 (thirty) feet of the room where voter registration is being held.

  • No one, other than the registrar by lawful means, can prevent a person from registering to vote or ask someone in line to register to vote to leave the line.

Poll watchers present their credentials to the registrar or deputy registrar.
