6.C. Examine The Ballot Box/Tabulator

6.C.7. Check That the Counter of the Tabulator Is Set to Zero

Once the tabulator is powered on, the recorded vote count will appear on the tabulator screen.

All Election Judges, poll watchers, other observers, and members of the public will observe that the counter is set to zero.

Relevant Illinois State Law

Before the opening of the polls, and before the ballots are entered into the automatic tabulating equipment, the judges of election shall be sure that the totals are all zeros in the counting column.
