The poll watcher only has to present their credentials once a day, but may be required to sign-out and sign-in every time they leave the Polling Place.
However, the poll watcher does not have to sign-in or sign-out to:
- leave or return to the Polling Room.
- go to the washroom,
- go to the designated break room,
- make a phone call or talk to someone outside of the Polling Room,
- leave the immediate Polling Place to smoke or talk to those outside the 100 foot The Campaign Free Zone,
without having to sign-out and sign back in.
Sign-out & sign-in when leaving the Polling Place for a meal break or when leaving the Polling Place for extended period of time.
Rule of Thumb
If you leave the Polling Place for more than 20 (twenty) minutes, sign-out.
