Chapter 6 – In–Person Early Voting At An Early Voting Permanent Polling Place
6.B. While the Polls Are Open
6.B.1. What Is Different From Election Day?
Unlike at a precinct on Election Day, a poll watcher is likely to work shorter shifts.
The shorter shifts are an excellent opportunity to hone your poll watching skills.
Like poll watchers, the election judges are probably working in shifts, too. It is an opportunity to see other election judges at work.
6.B.2. What Is The Same As Election Day?
No matter what time your shift starts, it begins the same way.
- As always, the first thing you do is Present Your Credentials and sign in as required.
- Make a list of election judges who are on duty and their party affiliations.
- If there are NO VOTERS PRESENT you can Examine the Voter Booths and the ballot box/tabulator.
- Find A Chair
