6.B. Presenting Credentials
At 5:00 a.m. on Election Day, upon entering the Polling Place, Election Judges may be too preoccupied with their own responsibilities to immediately accept a poll watcher’s credentials.
While waiting to enter the Polling Place, or immediately upon entering, the poll watcher should inform the Election Judges, “I have my credentials, when you are ready.”
While waiting to present their credentials, the poll watcher may continue to observe and perform permitted poll watching activities.
NOTE: The poll watcher must present their credentials before the polls open.
If, 10 (ten) minutes before the polls open, the poll watcher has not yet had an opportunity to present their credentials, they may insist that an Election Judge accept the credentials, as required by law.
When the Election Judge is ready, the poll watcher should present their credentials and sign in.
The poll watcher should sign in using the time they entered the Polling Place.
