2.A.3.c. How Many Poll Watcher Credentials Shall a Poll Watcher Need?
One.
If the poll watcher is assigned to an Election Day, in–precinct Polling Place with only one precinct, the poll watcher will only need one copy of the credentials.
As Many As Precincts In A Polling Place
Or Stars In the Sky, Whichever Number Is Smaller.
On Election Day, if the poll watcher is assigned to an in–precinct Polling Place that has multiple precincts the poll watcher will need a copy of the credentials for each precinct represented in the Polling Place. The copy of the credentials will be presented to the Election Judge representing that precinct.
A list of Polling Places and the associated precinct should be publicly posted by the Election Authority and made available to the poll watcher through their sponsoring organization.
See: Clustered Voting Zone, this link opens in a new browser tab..
The poll watcher may also be asked to sign-in on separate sign-in sheets for each precinct or one sign-in sheet for the entire Polling Place.
All kidding aside, a Polling Place with multiple precincts under Clustered Voting Zone has a limit of four precincts.
On Election Day, a poll watcher should need a maximum of four sets of credentials per Polling Place.
That said, bring extra "just in case".
Open Voting
On Election Day, some counties allow a voter who is registered to vote in the county to vote at any precinct.
In counties with open voting, the poll watcher will still submit the credentials for each precinct in the Polling Place represented by Election Judges.
For example, if the poll watcher is assigned a Polling Place with two precincts, even though the county allows open voting and the voter can vote county-wide, the poll watcher presents two credentials, one for each of the precincts represented by Election Judge[s].
Back to One.
Only one copy of the poll watcher's credentials per day is required for Polling Places that allow the voters from anywhere in the county to vote, voter registration events, and Election Judge panels:
