2.C. The Lay of the Land, The Polling Place and Central Counting Facility

2.C.3. The Polling Room

The Polling Room is the room within the Polling Place where voting takes place.

The polling room consists of:

  • The table where the Election Judge:
    • Greets the voter.
    • Verifies voter registration.
    • Fills out the ballot application.
    • Compares the voter signatures.
    This is also where a citizen can register to vote under Grace Period Registration.
  • The table where the election judge hands the voter a ballot,
  • The voting booth area,
  • The place where the tabulator/ballot box is on view,
  • The place where the poll watcher is stationed,
  • The place where credentialed visitors are stationed.
  • The place where the peace officer is stationed,
